Everyone heard about great patron of lovers St. Valentine, but not everyone knows that the part of his relics is saved in the Ukrainian city Sambir only 76 km from Lviv. A lot of people each year come here to honor this saint person. The relics of St. Valentine were brought to Ukraine in the 18th century and now are kept in the Church of Nativity of the Theotokos in Sambir. Except for relics here is a miraculous icon of the Sambir Virgin Mary.
So our trip starts from Sambir. We walk around the central part of the city with 40-miters City Hall, visit Church of Nativity of the Theotokos and Church of St. John the Baptist, Museum of Folk Architecture and Rural Life “Boykivshchyna”.
The next point of our trip is village Kulchytsi, where the famous Ukrainian Hetman Petro Konashevych-Sahaydachny and Cossack Yuriy Kulchytsky were born. So you visit the Historical Museum of Petro Sahaydachny and also hear stories about the famous Cossack Kulchytski, who learned how to drink coffee all Eastern Europe and established the first coffeehouse in Vienna. After excursion, you will taste a coffee prepared by a unique recipe.
