Did you see Lviv City Hall? temples? or thematic pubs? If your answer is “Yes” and you are looking for something more to see, we show you hidden Lviv.
At first, you visit the courtyard, where one of the first pastry shops were opened. In 1803 Swiss entrepreneur Domenico Andreolli established the pastry shop that existed for more than 50 years. And now this courtyard is really famous among coffee lovers, because of the coffee house that has the fives place in TOP of Lviv cafes.
Next on the route – the courtyard of Lviv City Hall, not every guest of our city knows about it. This place is really unique. Sometimes officials go here on the break or to gossip about life in Lviv, but the cultural purpose of it is to organize different thematic parties, events, film screenings and concerts. And in addition to that, there are ghosts… are you already scared?
After that, we go to the smallest courtyard on the Rynok square. We pass through the narrow passage into the yard, here you definitely find something interesting.
Are you ready to see the most exquisite yard in Lviv? Welcome to the Italian courtyard in The Korniakt Palace! This yard looks like a typical Renaissance courtyard in Rome or Florence. You will hear about the famous owner of the Palace and some secrets of building construction. Italian or as someone says Venetian courtyard is the most romantic place in the center. You open the doors and only one step divides you from the medieval Lviv to the era of Michelangelo with beautiful balconies and large round windows, strong columns and always green ivy…
One more closed courtyard can’t be omitted. It is situated in the building of the theatre; here live old dolls, masks, medieval costumes and decorations. They create an atmosphere of performance.
Also, there are two more interesting courtyards in Lviv – the yard of lost toys and yard-museum of the USSR. A feature of these yard-museums is that you can add things to the exposition. If you have old porcelain dolls, USSR posters or portraits of Lenin take that’s all to Lviv.
And of course, local cats, traditional inhabitants of Lviv courtyards, will complement your impressions.
