The evidence of the Jewish community in Lviv is found in the oldest of the the city documents. Jews as one of the largest ethnic groups arrived to Lviv in the 13th century. Being the isolated part of urban residents, Jews had their court, synagogue, house of wisdom “Bet-Gamidrash” and other attributes of independence.
