Museum of the History of Religion was founded in 1973 and is housed in a Dominican church XIV – XVIII centuries. The church is built on the draft of the Austrian engineer Jan De Witte, and is one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture in Lviv. Funds of the museum have a unique religious, artistic and historical value. Among the approximately 50,000 exhibit items of special attention is a large collection of icons of XVI–XIX centuries and a large collection of Bibles. Organ concerts and “night” tour – “The Lost World of Faith and Love” are also held in the museum.
